Our Story
At The Little Stand, we believe that small things can make a big difference. What began as a humble roadside jam stand in Saanich has grown into a beloved community staple—proof that when neighbours come together, something sweet happens.
Founded by Katherine and James Little, The Little Stand was built on the idea of transforming local abundance into something everyone can enjoy. Using traditional recipes and fruit sourced through community donations, local vendors, and nearby orchards, we craft small-batch jams, jellies, chutneys, and salsas that taste like home.
From our first jars on the roadside to shelves in local shops, our mission remains the same: to keep things personal, sustainable, and community-driven. As Katherine puts it best, “It's just freakin' jam … and flippin' flowers.”
Our Process
From fruit to jar, our process is guided by care, craft, and community.
Sourcing the fruit
We partner with generous community members, local vendors, and small orchards who donate or share their seasonal surplus. This not only reduces food waste but ensures every jar reflects the best of our region's harvest.
Hand-crafted in small batches
Each batch is made by hand using time-honoured preserving methods. Working in small quantities allows us to capture the freshest flavours and maintain the homemade touch our customers love.
From kettle to stand
Once cooled, labelled, and sealed, every jar makes its way to our roadside stand—where neighbours can stop by, pick up a jar, and share a smile. It's honesty-based, heart-based, and 100% local.
Listening & evolving
We take our community's feedback to heart. New recipes and seasonal flavours often start with a neighbour's idea or a gifted box of fruit. Every suggestion helps us grow, one jar at a time.
